High Definition Retro Game Box-art Scans

Bringing Retro Game Box-art Scans to the web for everyone to enjoy! 🎨

This site is my love letter to the retro game box-art I own. I’m going to scan in and upload uncompressed high res scans for all to enjoy as best as I can!

Where was I?

Back and active again after having a long break from this project.

Released 2 games on the Nintendo switch (self published) and moved out to a new place which took up a lot of time.

But we back baby!

How come the boxes are so clean?

Most of the Famicom games I own are in quite good shape. Some box arts have some dings here and scratches there but overall acceptable.  I did decide to start a slight cleanup in image altering software to remove some spots and wear & tear and do some color balancing here and there (also retrospectively) so they look their best!

The scanner shines a very bright white light which obviously messes up the contrast on most box-art. I’m taking the time to address this and might upload less frequently cause it takes up some time!

How are things going so far?

Time for the first update! So a week has passed (give or take) and it’s been going quite well. I’ve been able to scan in and distribute 8 famicom box-art scans, which is way more than I expected but luckily I had some spare time on my hands this past week.

Going forward I can’t promise the (almost) daily amount of uploads but this was a good start to get some content up in here!

You’ve probably got here because of my Instagram account or patreon page, if not let me explain what this is. This site is my love letter to the retro video game box-art I own. I’m going to scan in and upload uncompressed high def/dpi scans for all to enjoy!

What is going to come?

I’m going to start with scanning in all of my Famicom games, which will keep me quite busy, and from there we’ll see what comes next! probably Super Famicom because that would be the next logical step.

I will try to do at least 1 or 2 per week, really depends on the spare time I’ll have on my hands. Updates on the retro box-art scans can be found on my instagram page!
